First year B&W Portfolio

So my first year at Algonquin College has come to an end. This past two weeks I have worked on my portfolio, which resulted in neglect of food, sleep and a social life. I know we were required to create photo's to the professors requirements, but I disagreed with that a little bit. As a photographer we want to be singled out from everyone else, we want our work to be chosen before someone else. How can we demonstrate that within our portfolio if it's all the same?

I edited all the photos the way the professors wanted, however I made sure the final product was the way I liked, my style, not the style of some one else. Whether the professors agree, I will find that out on Monday afternoon(20th of April) when I pick up my portfolio.

If I managed to pass all my classes great, if not then so be it and I will continue on my journey to my hearts content and keep practicing my skills in photography while developing new styles and a new taste for life. Below are the photo's I've submitted in my portfolio.

1. Glass

2. Metal

3. Photo Illustration

4. Macro

5. Self-Direct

6. Low Key Portrait

7. High Key Poratrait

8. Consumer Portrait

9. Environmental Portrait

Soup Pot

Was trying to achieve the rule of thirds with this one. To improve the photo I could have moved the post over a little to the left and had the handle point towards the right.

Cousins

This photo is my Cousin and her Daughter, taken at my second Uncles 80th Birthday party.

Bus stop bench

This is a photo of the bus stop I went to for the first Three months in Ottawa over on Beachwood Ave.

Flower

I took the photo of this flower earlier in the year and I must say it is one of my favorites. I was experimenting with my camera and put a high ISO which then gave it a noisy look that I like.
